U of M Resignation Redesign 

 

Semester long group project.

Goal

Aims to improve the usability and user experience of the University of Michigan’s course registration page through a redesign that simplifies the registration process, incorporates intuitive navigation, personalized recommendations, search filiters, and streamlined course selection.

Approach

The project team conducted user testing and feedback gathering to ensure that the new design meets the needs of students and faculty, with the goal of creating a more effcient and user-freidnly registration process for the University of Michigan community.

Results

Translating Feedback into Enhancements

Home Page:
– Made buttons in one row

Register for Courses:
– Changed shape/color scheme for “Add” and “Full”
– Users can request override for course from professor via “Join Waitlist”
– Users can contact advising office for holds via exclamation icon

Degree Works:
–  Added more information i.e., Student ID, Name, Degree, and student resignation information
– Can register for classes in Degree Works

Browse Course Catalog:
– Simplified course name and information
– Changed “Course Status” to “Availability”
– Added “Favorites” to save courses
